42" x 10' x 1440 psi Test Unit
We built the test separator shown
above from a surplus 3 phase separator for an overseas customer. Requirements specified it be able to operate in a variety of environments including
off-shore, swamp, jungle, and desert. It features a full lifting frame with roof surrounding a 42" x 10' x 1440# 3 phase separator.
Enhancements include a built in shrinkage tester, a comingle manifold with by-pass capability, and a grated floor with sealed pan to capture spills.
The unit has a 4" Daniel Sr meter run, Barton Chart Recorder, Halliburton flow meters, and three site glasses showing interface, oil, and water levels.

30" x 15' x 1440# Trailer Mounted Test Separator w/Sand Trap
Mountain Equipment designed and built this trailer mounted Testing unit above to meet the customer's requirement for portability,
quick set up, and high reliability. It features a 30" x 15' x 1,440 psi refurbished horizontal three phase separator that is front-ended by a
22" x 8' x 5,000 psi vertical sand trap. The trailer includes a pipe rack on the other side to facilitate transport of necessary pipe.
This unit is capable of handling approximately 27MM SCF/Day of gas and 3,400 BBL/Day of fluid.

Service Test Separator

The test separator at left was built for an overseas customer and was designed specifically
for sour service (H2S). We used a surplus 3 phase separator that was stress
relieved (heat treated) when it was manufactured, and combined it with NACE certified
valves, floats and controls. In addition, we used seamless pipe certified
compliant with NACE MR-0175, and NACE approved welding techniques and materials.
The unit is mounted on an oilfield skid with a full lifting frame. It
features a built-in NACE certified shrinkage tester and a Totalflow 6713 flow computer
with five inputs: gas static pressure, gas differential pressure, gas temperature,
oil flow, and water flow. |

4 Phase Test Separator
The unit above was built around a refurbished 3 phase separator to which a 4th phase was added to remove residual sand from the wellstream.
It can handle approximately 90MM SCF/D (Standard Cubic Feet / Day) of natural gas and up to 18,000 BBL/D of liquid (oil & water) at
1,200 psi. The length of the vessel provides a 2-minute retention time, meaning the inflow
stays in the vessel for at least two minutes thereby providing sufficient time for gas, oil, and water to
separate from each other.
This unit inlcudes a full co-mingle capability on all outlets. It has a 2" oil out and a 3" oil out
(used when the unit is making a lot of oil). A 3" water out handles water, and a 6" meter run handles gas.
The unit above was designed for an overseas customer. To reduce shipping costs, the unit is designed to fit into
a "High Cube" shipping container. The skid, which includes a drip pan, is 7’ 4” wide X 30’ long.

This 3 phase separator to the right was designed as a production separator but has functionality to support the well tester too. A 2"
meter run and recorder can be quickly hooked up to measure and record gas volume out the sales line.
The unit was designed to meet the changing applications of a field services company based in western Colorado.
This separator went from concept to completion in less than two weeks in order to meet the customer's requirement. The vessel
is a surplus unit that was in very good shape and required only internal cleaning and inspection before being mounted on the
custom-built skid. This unit can handle approximately 1,600 BBL/D fluid and 14MM SCF/D gas.
